Showing Up for Your Disabled Loved One
If you love someone who’s disabled, you probably have a lot of questions. How can you show up best for your loved one? What do you need to know? This is a class for people who love disabled people, but aren’t quite sure how to engage with disability. In this class, participants will learn about ableism, barriers disabled people face, access needs, and asking more loving questions in a collaborative, discussion-based, hands-on course.
This class centers people who have very little exposure to disability and the disabled community, and will still be valuable if you have some understanding of disability. This class and Woven Experience also centers the belief that disability is a positive part of someone's identity, which may challenge some beliefs you've held before. That kind of learning is invited in this space.
Cost: This class is offered on a sliding scale of price. The actual cost of the class is $50, but you are able to pay $25-$75. Paying what you are able to, especially on the higher end of the scale, helps me to be able to provide price-accessible programming. If you have questions about this, please send me an email!
